View all projects

Switch between List and Timeline views, sort, group, and apply saved filters to customize your project overview and find projects faster.

In the project overview, you can see all the projects that are visible to you. You can switch between Liste and Timeline, depending on whether you prefer a table or a timeline view.

You can customize the overview by sorting, grouping, and using saved filters.

The project list

You can open the project overview from the Hauptmenü, then select Projekte. The overview shows a list of all projects that are visible to you.

All projects are sorted alphabetically. The following rules apply:

  • Special characters come before numbers and letters
  • Underscores come before hyphens
  • Numbers come before letters

Actions on projects

When you hover over a project row, an Aktionsbutton appears next to the project title.

The following actions are available: Bearbeiten, Link kopieren, Als Favorit im Menü fixieren, Duplizieren, Timer starten, Neue Zeit erfassen, Mitglieder zuweisen, Status wechseln, Projekttyp wechseln, Farbe, Slack verknüpfen, Vorlage erstellen, Workflow erstellen, Projekt verschieben, Timeline öffnen, In neuem Tab öffnen, Löschen.

The project timeline

Click Timeline in the header at the top center, next to Liste, to see all projects as a timeline. The project list is shown alongside it on the left. You can drag and drop the divider between the two areas to make the list or timeline larger or smaller.

For a project to appear in the timeline, it needs a start and end date. Add these in the project details or in the edit window.

Show milestones in the timeline

Click the milestone icon in the top right to show milestones. They appear as small diamonds along the top of the corresponding project bar.

Milestones outside the project's date range aren't shown.

Hover over a milestone to see its full name.

Tip: It's best to use the same colors for the same types of milestones. This makes it easier to tell what kind of milestone you're looking at in the timeline.

Configure the view

Customize the view to your liking using the options in the top right.

  • Sortiere nach: Aufgaben, Budget, Erstellt am, Fällig, Fortschritt, Key, Kunde, Name, Startdatum, Status, Workflow
  • Gruppiere nach: Fällige Woche, Fälliger Monat, Kunde, Status, Statustyp, Typ, Verantwortlich, Workflow
  • Choose Angezeigte Spalten: awork automatically remembers your selection.
  • Create a filter and save it, or select a saved filter. You can show or hide the filter bar using the filter button in the action bar (funnel icon).
  • Search for projects using the field at the top left with the magnifying glass icon, next to the + Projekt button. The list is automatically searched and filtered accordingly. When you clear the search text, you'll return to your previous view.

Reset your selected sorting, grouping, and filtering criteria by selecting Auf Standard zurücksetzen from the Aktionsbutton in the top right.

Export projects

From the Aktionsbutton in the top right of the list or timeline, select Exportieren to download the project overview in Excel format. The export contains the raw data from the project overview, which you can use for your own analyses, for example.

You can find more information about exporting here.

Delete projects safely

To prevent projects from being deleted accidentally, awork requires an additional confirmation by default. You'll need to enter an automatically generated phrase made up of three words.

Here's how safe deletion works:

  1. Start deleting a project using the action button, or select several projects to delete them together.

  2. A three-word phrase appears in the confirmation dialog. Enter the phrase exactly as shown to confirm the deletion.

  3. In the dialog, choose whether to also delete the associated time entries, then confirm the deletion by selecting Löschen.

Delete several projects at once: If you've selected several projects, one phrase is enough to confirm the deletion of the entire selection. You don't need to confirm each project individually.

You can also confirm the deletion by pressing Enter. The phrase is checked in the same way as when you click Löschen.

Disable the additional deletion confirmation

Admins can disable the additional confirmation in the workspace settings.

  1. Go to Einstellungen (gear icon at the bottom left of the main menu).
  2. Select Workspace in the Admin section.
  3. Turn off the toggle next to Zusätzliche Bestätigung beim Löschen von Projekten.

If the additional confirmation is disabled, the regular deletion dialog will still appear. You won't need to enter a phrase.

I can find my project using search, but it doesn't appear in the project list. What can I do?

Often, a filter is still active. Click the funnel icon to check whether a filter is selected.
