Tasks in the Kanban Board

The Board is the Kanban view for your project tasks. You see each task status as a column and each task as a card in that column.

You can use drag and drop to move cards between status columns or adjust the order of cards.

Moving Tasks and Sorting Cards

  1. Open a Project and click on Board next to the Tasks tab.
  2. Drag a task card with drag and drop into another column to change the status.
    or drag cards within a column to adjust the order.

Important: The order in the Board has no effect on the order of tasks within a task list.


Adding or Editing Columns (Task Status)

The columns correspond to task statuses. You can create new columns (i.e., new task statuses) directly in the Board and adjust existing ones.

  1. Click on the column on the far right.
  2. Enter a name for the new column.
  3. Select the status type using the color dropdown.
  4. To edit an existing status, click on the action button to change the status name, color, or icon.

Changing Column Order

You can change the order of columns (statuses) using drag and drop. The order of the columns is the same order as the status circles in the popup when you hover your mouse over the task checkbox.

Alternatively, you can adjust task statuses in the Settings tab of a project and change their order there using drag and drop.


Fixed Column for Completed Tasks

In the Board view, there's a fixed column for completed tasks.

You can choose to show either recently completed or all completed tasks.

Important: This column cannot be hidden. That's why one of the checkboxes always stays active: All completed or Recently completed. You can only select one of the two views at a time.


Creating New Tasks in the Board View

  • Click the + button at the top of a column to create a task directly in that column.
  • Or click the + Task button in the top left.

New tasks appear in the column that matches their status.

Editing Task Details

  • Hover your mouse over a card to see the available actions directly on the task.
  • Click on the task name to open the task details.

Grouping the Board by Lists or Users

  1. Open the grouping option in the top right (next to the Done visible button).
  2. Choose whether you want to group by User or List.

When the list is grouped, you can also use drag and drop to assign tasks to other users or move them between lists.


Using Presentation Mode

  1. Click the screen icon in the top right.
  2. The Board is switched to Presentation mode (read-only mode, unnecessary elements are hidden).

FAQ

Where do I find the Board view in my project?

You'll find Board right next to the Tasks tab in your project.

How do I create new columns (task statuses) in the Board?

Click on the column indicated on the far right, give it a name, and select the status type using the color dropdown.

Does changing the order in the Board also change the order in the task list?

No. The order of tasks in the Board has no effect on the order of tasks within a task list.

Why can't I hide the column for completed tasks?

In the Board view, there's a fixed column for completed tasks. Since this column cannot be hidden, either All completed or Recently completed always stays enabled.

What does presentation mode mean?

Presentation mode switches the Board to a read-only mode and hides additional elements to provide a clear overview. You can activate this using the screen icon in the top right corner.
