View & Select Completed Projects

In awork, you can mark completed work with the status closed so that they're hidden by default in most overviews and search results (for example, when selecting a project during time tracking).

You set the available project statuses per project in the project settings or define them in templates.

Closed projects can still be found and selected if you explicitly include them in filters and search.

How to access completed projects

In awork, two statuses count as completed:

  • Cancelled (red)
  • Completed (green)

Once you set a project to one of these statuses, it becomes a hidden project.

Show completed projects in the project overview

Use a filter above the project list in the project overview to show or hide completed projects.

Find completed projects in selection popups

In selection popups (for example, when selecting a project), completed projects are only shown if you include them:

  1. Search for the project (shortcut f)
  2. Enable the toggle below the search field to include completed projects in your search

Note: The toggle only appears after you've entered text in the search field.

By default, completed projects and tasks from completed projects are not shown in search. This keeps the focus on your current projects and tasks.

Here's how to search within completed projects:

  • Open the global search (shortcut f).
  • Enable the toggle to the right of the search field to include completed projects.

Only then will tasks from these projects also appear in the results.

Select completed projects in slash commands

You cannot search for completed projects in slash commands.

However, you can still select completed projects:

  1. Click on Add details
  2. Open the project selection popup
  3. Search for the project
  4. Enable the toggle so that completed projects are also searched

FAQ

Which statuses count as completed?

Completed (green) and Cancelled (red) count as completed. Projects with these statuses are hidden in most overviews and searches unless you explicitly include completed projects.

Can I search for tasks that belong to completed projects?

Yes. In the global search (F), completed projects and their tasks are hidden by default. Enable the toggle below the search field to include completed projects and show tasks from completed projects.

Why don't I see the toggle to include completed projects in the selection window?

The toggle only appears after you've entered text in the search field. Start by typing the project name, then enable Also include closed and blocked projects and tasks.

Why can't I select a completed project using slash commands?

Slash commands don't include completed projects in the selection. To select a completed project, click on Add details, open the full project selection window, search for the project, and then enable Also include closed projects.
