Searching in awork
Using the settings bar at the top right, you can then specify whether you want to see all results or only projects, tasks, users, or customers. By activating the button "Also show closed projects", you can also include items from already completed projects in your search. This feature allows you to perform a precise and customized search that's tailored exactly to your needs.
In awork search, names are generally weighted higher. This means that matches in names are prioritized in the results. Additionally, awork tracks how frequently you access projects or tasks, so frequently used items are ranked higher in your search results.
To the right of the search result, you'll see the path through which awork found your result.
For example, it will show you whether your search result leads to a description or a task list.
In addition to tasks, projects, users, and customers, awork also searches the menu, so you can navigate conveniently through search. Give it a try by searching for "projects".
awork searches the following items in detail:
- Menu
- Project name
- Project description
- Project participants
- Task lists
- Task name
- Task description
- Files
- Assignee
- Comments
- Tags
- Status
- Notes in dashboard widget
- User first name
- User last name
- awork links (project, task, and task list links)
☝️ Tip: By searching for awork links, you can now also search via links in the desktop app. 🚀
Opening search results in a new tab or copying the link to a result
To open search results in a new tab or to copy the link, simply click on the 3-dot menu of the respective result and select the action you'd like to perform.
☝️ Pro tip: Edit objects directly from the search results!
Some objects, such as tasks or projects, can be edited directly from the search. With tasks, you can change the status as usual, and with all other search results, you have an action menu button on the right side.
Searching in awork as an external Connect user (Basic Connect Plan)
For content from your own workspace that doesn't belong to external projects, standard search criteria apply (see above).
External users can find all content they are "connected" to based on their permissions from within their own workspace. This means you can also find content from external projects that you are assigned to.
What should I do if I can't find what I'm looking for?
If your desired object doesn't appear in the search results, you probably need to be more specific. For example, enter both the task name and the project name, or parts of it, in the search field. Similar to web search engines, awork can then deliver more precise results this way.
