Export Your Data

Here's how you can export projects, tasks, times, time reports, as well as data on users and clients - including Google Sheets integration.

Important: Once an export has been successfully created, you'll get a notification in awork with a link to download the document.

Export projects

The project overview can be exported in list view and timeline view. The export includes the raw data from the project overview, which you can use for your own analyses, for example.

  1. Open the project overview and select List or Timeline in the header.

  2. Click the Action button in the top right.

  3. Select Export.


Export tasks

You can download all tasks from a project in Excel format (.xlsx) and then process them further.

  1. Open the project and switch to the view you want (Tasks, Board, or Timeline).

  2. Click the Action button in the top right below the header.

  3. Select Export tasks.


Export views

  1. Open Views in the main menu

  2. Select a Standard view or a Filter you created.

  3. Click the Action button in the top right below the header.

  4. Select Export.


Export timeline as image

You can export the entire timeline as an image, download it, and share it with a client or include it in a presentation, for example.

  1. Open the Timeline in the project.

  2. Click the Action button in the top right below the header.

  3. Select Export as SVG or Export as PNG.

The export includes all displayed tasks as well as the entire time span of these tasks plus one week at the start and end.

The entire configured view is used (e.g. zoom level, language, dark mode).


Export times

You can download recorded times in Excel format (.xlsx) and then process them further.

My times

In the Times menu item, you can export your recorded times. The export is available in Overview, My Day, and My Week.

  1. Open the Times menu in the left navigation bar.

  2. Stay in the Overview with all times, select the Time period in the center top and group by activity, billability, project, day, week, month, quarter, or year;
    or switch to My Day or My Week.

  3. Click the Export button in the top right and download the export.

Times for a task

  1. In the detail view of a task, click the green Recorded box in the task KPIs (Due date, Planned, Recorded). This gives you an overview of the times recorded for this task.

  2. Click the Export icon in the top right to export.


Export time reports

You can export the report data in two ways using the icons in the top right:

  • Print or save timesheet as PDF

  • Export table as Excel file (.xlsx) as raw data or formatted

Tip: Via the options you can format the export (only available for PDF format and the formatted export) by filtering, grouping, summing, or sorting data. You can also set columns and decide how data should be rounded.

Export users

You can export the user overview or download times and projects for individual users.

Go to Settings (gear icon in the bottom left of the main menu). Select Users.

To export the user overview:

  1. Sort or filter the view and select the columns displayed.

  2. Click the Action button in the top right > Export.

To export user times and user projects:

  1. Select a user from the overview.

  2. Open the Projects or Times tab.

  3. Click the Action button > Export.


Export clients

You can export the client overview or a client's projects and times.

  1. Open Clients in the main menu on the left in the Workspace section.

To export the client overview:

  1. Click the Action button in the top right > Export.

To export times and projects for a client:

  1. Select a client.

  2. Go to the Projects or Times tab.

  3. Click the Action button > Export.


Export data via Google Sheets integration

awork offers a handy add-on for Google Sheets that lets you quickly export important information.

Want to be notified by email as soon as an export is available? To do this, enable the option Notify me when an export is available in your account settings.

In what formats can I export data?
