List and Table View

In this article, you'll learn how to use the list and table view in awork to manage your tasks efficiently. You'll discover how to switch between views, customize columns, group and sort tasks, and apply various actions to your tasks.

You can find these views everywhere in awork - for example, in projects and views - where you can choose between the list and table view.

Switching Between List and Table View

In the toolbar above your task list, you'll find the view options List and Table. Click on your preferred view to switch between the list view and the detailed table view.

Grouping and Sorting Tasks

Adjusting the Sort Order
Use the sort icon in the toolbar to change the order of your tasks. The tooltip "Sort by" shows you the available sorting options: Task status, Assignee, Created by, Created, Due date, Planned effort, Key, Name, Priority, Start date, Status type, Activity.

Changing the Grouping
Click on the group icon in the top right toolbar. A dropdown menu opens with the heading "Group by". Here you can choose from various options: Assignee, Created by, List, Priority, Status type, Activity, Daily/Weekly/Monthly.

By clicking Clear selection, you can remove the sorting or grouping.

Classic task lists also represent a grouping. If you remove this, you'll see individual tasks sorted chronologically by task key without lists.

Showing or Hiding Completed Tasks

Click on the double checkmark icon in the toolbar to show or hide completed tasks. You have 2 options to choose from:

  • Show recently completed tasks (within the last 30 days)
  • and Show all

Managing Task Lists

Click on the action menu in the top right corner and select Manage task lists. A modal window opens showing all task lists in the project.

  • Reordering Task Lists
In the management window, you can change the order of lists by dragging and dropping. Drag a list by the handle symbol on the left and drop it at the desired position.
  • Performing List Actions
Click on the three-dot menu next to a list to access more options: archive or delete the task list. Close the window using the Close button or the X symbol.

Organizing Tasks

Each task now sits in a clearly defined row.

Moving Individual Tasks
Use the move handle (the six-dot symbol on the left in the task column) to grab and move tasks.

Drag a task row to a different position within the list using drag and drop. A colored line shows you where the task will be inserted.

Creating New Tasks

Adding a Task
Click on the Add task row in a task list or click the + Task button between tasks.

Adding a Subtask
Click on + Subtask to create a nested task under an existing task, or drag an existing task using the handle symbol on the left to the right to nest it under another task.

Editing Entire Hierarchies
When you select a parent task, the subtasks are automatically included.

The Table View

awork remembers your configuration per list, so you can customize it individually for each project.
