Views

Views is a dedicated space for your saved task filters. Create views with filters, save them, and open them anytime exactly as you left them. A sidebar keeps everything organized - with sections, search, favorites, and archive.

Key benefits and use cases

  • Everything in one place
Access standard views and all your saved views bundled in one location
  • Always start the same way
Your views open every time with the same filters and settings

Skip repetitive filtering and jump straight into work
  • Stay organized effortlessly
Keep on top of things by sorting, favoriting, and structuring views in your sidebar

Opening views

Navigate to views from the main menu
Click on Views in the left sidebar. You'll find this menu item at the top of the sidebar, right below Times.

If the sidebar is hidden, click the Views button to expand it.

Using standard views

Every user automatically gets these views:

  • New Tasks
  • My Tasks
  • Private Tasks

Favorited views

You can save a view as a favorite using the star icon in the top right.

When a view (task filter) is marked as a Favorite, it appears in the Favorites section of your Views sidebar.

Creating and saving a new filter view

  1. Click the + button in the Filter section of your sidebar to create a new view.
  2. Set your filters (projects, users, status, due dates, custom fields, etc.)
  3. Click Save

Sharing a view

  1. Open a saved view
  2. Click Share
  3. Choose users, teams, or your entire workspace
  4. Set permissions (Read or Edit)

Tip: Share views with edit permissions if you want to work on them together, or read-only to keep everyone on the same page without making changes.

Finding views shared with you

Under Shared with me you can see all filters that were shared with you, your team, or your workspace.

Archiving a view

You can archive any view - personal or shared - to remove it from your sidebar without deleting it or affecting others.

  1. Click the action button on a view
  2. Select Archive

Archived filters appear in the Archived Filters section. The Archive area only shows up if at least one view is archived.

Archived filters cannot be changed while they're archived.

Restoring a view

  • Scroll to the Archived section in your sidebar
  • Click the action button on the archived view
  • Select Restore
  • The view returns to its original section

Important things to know about archiving

  • Archiving is personal - it only affects your sidebar. Other users won't see any change
  • The person who owns the view is not notified when you archive it
  • Archived views are read-only
  • Archived views are still accessible through search and direct URL
  • Archived views cannot be used in dashboard widgets

Deleting views

  1. Click the three-dot menu on a filter
  2. Select Delete filter

Important: Deleted filters cannot be restored.

Reordering views in the sidebar

You can reorder filters in your Views sidebar using drag and drop.

Standard and archived filters cannot be reordered.

Managing views in your sidebar

  • Search views: Find saved views by name
  • Reorder views: Drag and drop views within sections
  • Favorite views: Mark important views for quick access using the star icon in the top right
  • Collapse and expand sections: Keep your sidebar clean and focused
  • Archive a view: Hide a view from your sidebar without deleting it
  • Smart sections: Favorites, Shared with me, and Archived only show up if they contain at least one view

Best practices

  • Save filters you use often
Save recurring views once and skip the double work
  • Use clear names
Pick simple, easy-to-understand names so everyone knows what each view is about
  • Share strategically
Only share views that are actually relevant
  • Favorite your important views
Mark your most important views so you can find them quickly anytime
  • Set team standards
Create shared views for typical workflows (like daily triage or sprint planning)

Pro tip: Create role-based views (for example, for managers or specific teams) to stay focused and cut down on distractions.
