awork Forms

Create public forms that turn every submission into an awork task automatically.

awork Forms is a standalone form builder that lets you collect requests from clients or external contacts through a public link. Each submission automatically creates a task in awork.

You can access awork Forms at forms.awork.com.

Key benefits and use cases

Use awork Forms when you want cleaner input and faster follow-up:

  • Structured intake so all required details come in through one form

  • Fewer back-and-forth messages by collecting the right info upfront with required fields

  • Automatic task creation for every submission, including project, task list, assignee, and priority

How to use awork Forms

  1. Go to forms.awork.com and sign in with your awork account

  2. Open the dashboard to see your forms, submissions, and created tasks

  3. Click Create form to set up your first form

How to create a form

When you create a form, you define what information to collect and what happens with each submission.

Define form fields

Add custom fields to collect exactly the info you need (for example, a title, a description, or a file attachment). Mark fields as required so nothing important gets skipped.

Supported file attachments are PNG, JPG, and PDF up to 10 MB.

Configure task settings

Choose what happens when someone submits the form:

  • Project and task list to define where the task gets created

  • Assignee to optionally assign a teammate right away

  • Priority to set a default priority for incoming submissions

  • Additional fields to auto-fill other task fields

Share the form

Every form gets a public link you can share with clients or external partners. They don’t need an awork account— they fill out the form and click Submit.

Dashboard and submissions

Use the dashboard overview

The dashboard gives you a quick overview of:

  • Total forms (how many forms you’ve created)

  • Submissions (how many submissions came in this month)

  • Created tasks (how many tasks were created from submissions)

The quick actions at the bottom help you jump straight to common actions like creating a form, viewing your forms, or viewing submissions.

Manage submissions

Go to Submissions in the sidebar to find all incoming form entries. From there, you can track which tasks were created and review the information that came in.

Permissions

In the Settings menu, you can define workspace access. Control whether all users in the selected workspace are allowed to open awork Forms or only selected people.

  • Allow all users is the recommended default. Disable this option to restrict Forms to a selected group.

    • Allowed users: Select the users you want to grant access to Forms.

awork admins and users with permissions for workspace settings always retain access, even if they are not explicitly listed in the Allowed users list.

When creating a form, only the projects and task lists that the user has access to, or that are not private, are available for selection.

Known limitations and considerations

  • awork Forms is standalone and not yet integrated directly into awork

  • Access is via forms.awork.com, not from within the awork app

  • It’s open source on GitHub, so your developers can self-host or contribute features

  • awork’s permission management does not apply to task creation via Forms:

Any user who is assigned to a project can add a task to that project via Forms.

Please note: Support for awork Forms is currently handled through GitHub and the awork community, not through regular awork support.
