How to install the extension

Open the Chrome Web Store

Search for the awork Timer extension and select it

Click Add

Confirm the required permissions and click Add extension

Click the awork icon next to your address bar to set up the extension

Sign in to awork

Select a workspace if you have multiple ones

Click the awork icon again to open and use the timer
Once connected, the extension stays permanently synced with your awork workspace.

How the awork browser extension works
Time tracking options
Tracked time is transferred in real-time to your connected workspace.
In the extension, you'll find the main time tracking options:

Start and stop the timer for projects or tasks

Pause the timer

Discard the timer

Mark time as billable or non-billable
Set a default project
When you start the timer from the extension, time is logged to a selected project or task. If no project is selected, your default project is used.

Click Open settings in the top right

Select a project from your workspace as your default project
Enable timer integration in tools
With direct timer integration, you can display the classic awork timer in tools like Github, Pipedrive, MOCO, and helloHQ. There you can stop, pause, or discard the timer.

Enable a tool by checking the box
When a tool is enabled, you can use the awork timer directly on that tool's website.
Open workspace
Via Open awork (top right in the extension), you navigate directly to your connected workspace.
Understanding browser icon status
The awork browser icon shows you through its color whether the extension is active:

Gray: You're not logged in and not tracking time

Black: You're logged in and not tracking time

Purple: You're logged in and currently tracking time

Your time is automatically logged to your previously set default project.
