Integrate Your Invoicing Tool
Before you can transfer time into invoices, you'll need to integrate a supported invoicing tool first.
Here you can learn how to integrate one of the supported invoicing tools.
After that, you can start the workflow directly from your time reports.
Generate an Invoice
-
Open the Time Reports menu
-
Select a saved time report or create a new one
-
Click the Dollar icon in the top right
-
Select Generate Invoice
This starts a workflow to transfer your time to a new or existing invoice in an integrated invoicing tool.
Choose Between New Invoice or Existing Invoice Draft
You can either add the line items to an existing invoice draft or create a new invoice.
Group Invoice Line Items
Choose how the time from your report should be grouped into invoice line items:
-
Groups = Line Items - Only the group headers with the summed totals are transferred as invoice line items (only possible if your data is grouped in the time report)
-
Totals = Line Items - Only the totals of the line items are transferred as invoice line items (only possible if your data is summed up in the time report)
-
Time Entries = Line Items - Each time entry is transferred as its own line item on the invoice
Choose Line Item Text and Unit of Measurement
In this step, you decide what should be displayed as the line item text on the invoice:
-
Project name
-
Task name
-
Username
You can also decide whether the time should be transferred to the invoice in hours or in days. One day is always calculated as 8 hours.
Adjust Data and Enter Prices
In the second to last step, you'll see the individual line items again and can edit them manually:
-
Change the line item name
-
Adjust the quantity (hours / days)
-
Delete line items
-
Change the order of line items
-
Create a new line item
You'll need to enter the prices for the line items in this step.
Mark Time as Billed and Create Invoice
In the final step, you can mark all time transferred to the invoice as billed and create the invoice in your invoicing tool.
After that, you can close the window or go directly to your invoicing tool.
