Create AI images with image models

With awork AI, you can generate images and choose from the available image models. The results may vary depending on the model.

In this article, you'll learn how to start generating images in your AI agent workspace by adding extra capabilities to the Composer. Once you've completed the steps, you can select an image model and create AI-generated images directly in the chat.

Choose an image model

1. Open the AI chat.

2. Below the input field, click the performance mode, such as "Balanced".

3. Turn on Erweitert.

4. Under Bildmodell, select the available model you want to use.

The image models you can choose from depend on your workspace settings.

Generate images

In the AI chat, describe the image you want to create. The more precisely you specify the subject, style, colors, and desired format, the more control you'll have over the result.

Manage image models

Workspace admins can choose which image models are available under Einstellungen → AI → Modelle. Image models are enabled and disabled separately from general AI models.

Use reference images

Upload images to the AI chat and use them as visual references when you ask it to create or edit an image. This helps you show the agent what to use as a guide.

Requirements

• Image generation must be available and enabled for the agent and the workspace.
• You can attach up to 16 reference images per request in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format, with a total size of no more than 50 MB. Each individual image can be up to 20 MB when uploaded.

Upload images and send your request

1. Open the AI chat and enable image generation

2. Add reference images
   Open the action menu in the input area and select "Datei hochladen". Choose one or more image files. Alternatively, you can drag or paste files directly into the input area. The images will then appear as attachments by the input field.

3. Write your prompt
   In the input field, describe what you want to create or edit, and explicitly refer to the uploaded images. For example: "Edit the uploaded image …" or "Use image 1 as a template."

4. Send your message
   Click the send button. The chat will start generating the image and show the result in the conversation.

Refer to images from the current session

There's no separate gallery or dialog for selecting images that have already been used in the session. If an image is already in the conversation, describe it in your message so the agent can use it as a reference.

If there are too many reference images, they're too large, or they're in an unsupported format, the image request can't be processed with those images. Which AI models at a glance are available and which quotas apply can also affect image generation.
