Link an AI thread to a project using the Add to Project button so your team can collaborate on shared conversations and access them in your project context.
Link an AI thread to a project so it becomes visible there and multiple users can work on it together.
Once a thread is connected to a project, it becomes visible to everyone who has access to that project.

How to Link a Thread to a Project
A thread can be linked as long as it hasn't already been connected to a project or task.
- Click Add to Project at the bottom left of the chat input field.
- Select a project
A project assignment window opens.
You'll see a list of available projects. You can either select a project directly from the list or use the search field with the magnifying glass icon to search for a specific project. Projects are displayed with their names, project keys, and associated customers.
Once you've selected a project, the thread is linked to that project and visible to all team members with project access.
Run Agents in a Project or Task
You can add an agent directly to a project or to a task.
When adding an agent, you can optionally include additional instructions. For example, a project health agent already knows its typical workflow for a health check. A more general agent might need additional project-specific instructions.
During execution, the agent is temporarily displayed as an active run in the project.
The run also appears in the project's AI tab. From there, users can:

stop the run
When you assign an agent, the system automatically adds context-relevant instructions.
The resulting thread is automatically linked to the project and is visible according to the existing permissions in the project.
Mention Agents
Agents can also be mentioned directly in projects, comments, and tasks.
When an agent is mentioned:
- the agent receives the request,
- the run is automatically assigned to the relevant project or task,
- the resulting thread is linked with this context,
- the run appears in the relevant AI activity areas
Project Context vs. Linked Thread
It's important to distinguish between project context and project link:
- Project context tells the agent which project is relevant for the conversation.
- A project link, on the other hand, makes the thread visible within the project.
You can specify a project as context when creating an AI thread. This helps the agent assign the conversation to the right project. However, this doesn't make the thread visible in the project yet. If you want the thread to be accessible to other project members, it must be explicitly linked to the project.
Shared AI Threads in Your Project
An AI thread linked to a project can become a shared conversation. This allows multiple users to work together with the same agent in the same project context.
Users with the necessary permissions can:

see other participants in the thread details

leave the AI thread
When you leave an AI thread, it continues to exist. You're no longer a participant afterward and can rejoin it later if you still have access to it.
Permissions for Project Threads
Whether someone can see an AI thread in a project is controlled by the Project AI Threads permission of a project-specific permission role: This allows users to see all AI threads in the project.
There are the following permission types:

There is no separate write permission for AI threads. Anyone who can access a shared project thread can also participate in the conversation.
Special Considerations for External Users
External users do not have access to a project's AI thread list.
They can't assign agents there and can't mention agents through the project.
If an external user creates an AI thread in their own workspace, it stays there. The AI thread can't be moved to a project in a different workspace.
Organize AI Threads with Projects
In a project, users with read permissions have access to a dedicated AI area.
This is where threads linked to the project are displayed.
Actual access to the content depends on the type of thread:
