Download the awork Desktop App for macOS or Windows to access awork on your computer with system notifications and multi-tab support
With the awork Desktop App, you use awork directly on your computer. The app is exactly the same application that you already know from the browser.
Windows 10, Windows 11 (recommended), and macOS 13 (Ventura) on Intel and Apple Silicon devices are supported. You'll find more details in the System Requirements.

Open awork afterward from your Start menu
macOS
Important: The macOS app comes in two versions: for Intel x64 processors and for Apple M processors (since 2020).
Download the right version to avoid performance issues.

Drag the awork app into the Applications folder

Open Applications in Finder and start the awork app
You can also drag the app to the macOS Dock so awork is always within reach.
On first launch, you'll need to confirm once that you want to start the application on your device.
Manage Notifications
On first launch, awork asks whether you want to allow notifications. It's recommended that you enable this.

Focus mode - Notifications are automatically suppressed
You can also enable or disable notifications later in your operating system under Settings > Notifications.
Opening Links in the Desktop App
Once you log in to the desktop app for the first time, awork remembers that you have it installed.

Open an awork link, for example from an email

You land in awork in the browser first

A popup appears in the top right asking whether you want to open the page in the desktop app

Click the button in the popup and confirm in the browser if needed to open the app
If you always want to open links in the desktop app, enable the toggle in the popup.
When the toggle is active, opening a link takes you to an almost empty awork page and you'll need to confirm opening the application once. Via Open in Browser, you can get to the actual page without the desktop app.
You can disable the default opening of the desktop app for links on this page via the toggle or in your account settings under Display Settings > Open Links in Desktop App.
Working with Tabs
The desktop app supports tabs. You'll see them in the tab bar of the app window.

Click the Plus symbol in the tab bar to open a new tab

Open pages directly in new tabs by holding CMD (Mac) or CTRL (Windows) while clicking

Move tabs left or right via drag and drop

Close tabs by hovering over the tab and clicking the X

Updates
The desktop app automatically checks once a day for new app updates. As soon as an update is available, it's recommended that you install it.
More frequently, you'll see a notification in the application that a new awork version is available. When you click the notification, awork reloads and you'll be up to date.
Offline Use
The awork Desktop App does not offer offline use.
awork is collaborative and requires a connection to awork servers to keep data current.

Please first check that you have the latest version installed. Then completely close the app via Task Manager, Activity Monitor, or similar, and restart it. If available, an update will be triggered on restart if it hasn't already happened automatically.
Is there also a mobile app?
