How to start the import

You can find the Notion importer in two places:

  • On the Docs home page
Click the import icon on the Docs page.

  • In the settings under “Imports"
Click “Start import” next to Notion.

Prepare your Notion export

There are two ways to export your data from Notion:

Export the entire workspace:

Go to Notion → Settings → General → Export all workspace content.
Select the HTML format, include everything, and enable “Create folders for subpages.”

Export a single page with subpages:

Open the desired page in Notion, click the three-dot menu in the top right, and select Export. Make sure to choose HTML format and enable the option to include subpages.

☝️ Note: The export will only contain content that the exporting user has access to. Ideally, the export should be done by someone with admin rights.

Perform the import in awork

  • Upload the exported ZIP file in the Notion importer.

  • Select the Docs space in awork where the content should be imported.

  • Choose whether the imported documents should be private (visible only to you) or accessible to your team.

What gets imported?

  • Pages and subpages: Imported as documents in awork.

  • Databases: Imported as tables based on the selected view settings in Notion. For best results, export the database separately.

  • Comments and trash content: Will not be imported.

  • Maximum file size: Exports larger than 1.5 GB are not supported. In this case, please export individual subspaces separately.

Permission Management

After the import, you can configure access rights for docs and spaces individually in awork.
