Monitor your AI credit allowance and real-time consumption across plan tiers to understand how model selection and agent configuration affect usage costs
Your available AI Credits show you how much AI usage your plan includes. Your actual consumption depends on what an AI Agent or other AI functions are currently processing.

Your Monthly AI Credit Allowance
AI Credits are technical usage units for specific AI functions.
They have no monetary value and cannot be paid out or redeemed for money.
Your monthly allowance depends on your booked AI plan:

How Credit Consumption is Calculated
An AI action doesn't always use the same number of credits. Your consumption can depend on things like:

AI Model: Which model is used for processing

Context: The scope and complexity of the information being processed

Input and Output: The amount of inputs and outputs

Processing: The number and type of processing steps

Tools and Connections: The tool calls used and external connections

Agent: The complexity and configuration of the agent being used
This means that an agent run doesn't automatically equal a fixed number of credits.

Note: Even a failed or incomplete AI action can consume credits if AI resources were already used for it.
Typical Credit Consumption
The following table is a guideline for agent threads using the reference model GPT-5.6 Terra. Your actual consumption depends on factors like your prompt, the reasoning level you choose, the number of tools and tool calls used, and more. The values shown are reference values only.

View Your Credit Consumption
Admins can check the AI plans, credit consumption, and remaining credit allowance for users in the user menu.
You'll be notified before your available allowance runs out.

Open Settings
Click on Settings in the left sidebar, then select Users under the Users category in the middle navigation area. This takes you to user management, where all workspace members are listed. -
AI Credits
In the user table, you'll find the awork AI-Credits column, which shows the number of credits used in the current period for each user as a percentage of available credits. Hover over the progress bar to see the details, including the date when your credits will reset. -
AI Plan
The AI Plan column shows a user's current AI plan. Change the AI plan by clicking on the dropdown arrow and confirm the change.
What Happens to Unused Credits
Unused credits expire at the end of each monthly AI billing period.
Unused credits are not carried over to the next period.
Credits cannot be transferred between users or pooled in your workspace.
Your Credit Allowance is Used Up
Once your booked AI plan's credit allowance is used up, you won't be charged automatically.
Instead, AI functions may be limited or paused until the next monthly reset.
Currently, this means:

Custom Agents: Additional runs will be paused once your available credit allowance runs out

awork Agent / Chat: Certain chat features remain available with reduced functionality and/or reduced performance
In limited mode, you might use different models, for example. Some functions, tools, or advanced agent features may be unavailable. Technical usage limits may also apply.
Increase Your Credit Allowance
An admin can upgrade a user to a higher AI plan at any time during the current billing period.
The upgrade takes effect immediately. Your monthly reset stays tied to your existing AI billing period.
Upgrading doesn't start a new period. Credits already consumed during the current period are deducted from your new allowance.
Changes to Credit Calculation
Credit calculation can change, for example, if the models used, providers, or AI functions evolve.
Credits you've already consumed are not affected by these changes.
Important: If a change significantly limits typical usage with your existing credit allowance, we'll let you know beforehand. The change takes effect at the earliest on the first day of the next monthly billing period.

No. AI Credits are the technical usage units awork uses. A fixed number of tokens wouldn't be meaningful enough because of different models and agent configurations.
Do AI Credits have monetary value?
