Which browsers does awork support?

Basically, awork supports most common browsers. The following versions are supported:

  • Chrome (as of v57)

  • Edge (as of v40)

  • Safari (as of v10)

  • Mobile Safari (from v10)

  • Firefox (as of v52)

  • Opera (as of v44)

Is there a desktop app for the PC or Mac?

Yes, awork is also available as desktop app for Windows 10, Windows 11 (recommended) and MacOS 13 (Ventura) on Intel and Apple Silicon devices. For more info, check out our article on the desktop app.

In addition some browsers (e.g. Chrome, Edge) allow web apps, such as awork, to be installed directly from the browser.


awork is recognized by Chrome as a web app. This means that simply click on the Plus icon (+) in the address bar and select Install. Now awork will open in its own window.

Mac: Now the Finder opens with the Chrome Apps folder and you can drag the awork app into your dock and use awork as an app.

Windows: awork appears in the Start menu under Recently Added Apps and can be right-clicked to add it to the Start menu or taskbar.


awork is recognized by Edge as a web app. I.e. just click on the Plus icon (+) in the address bar and select Install. Now awork opens in its own window.

Now the browser window will be detached as an app and shown as a separate app in the taskbar. Here you will be able to pin awork. In addition, awork is also available as an app in the start menu.

☝️Hint: PWA (installable web apps) are not officially supported by some browsers, e.g. Firefox. So, we do only support Chrome and Edge at the moment.

Are there keyboard shortcuts in awork?

Yes! The following shortcuts can be used everywhere when using awork:

  • ⌘ + K (Mac) / Ctrl + K (Windows) - Open actions menu

  • M - Open menu and close menu bar

  • F - Open quick search (your last search will be displayed)

  • Z - Enter new time

  • T - Create new task

  • P - Create new project

  • C - Create new client

Why can't I start a support chat?

If you click on Start Support Chat and nothing happens, it is probably due to an ad blocker. In order for you to chat with the support team, it must be disabled.

Our support team is on

  • Monday to Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What happens if I remove myself from the admin role?

It is not possible to have no user assigned to the admin role. Accordingly, the last admin user cannot be removed from the role.

If you accidentally put yourself in a non-admin role, please reach out to one of the remaining admin users to have them make you an admin again.

Can I archive projects?

No, unfortunately, this is not possible. However, it is possible to set the project status to completed. If you select only the active projects in the project overview, the project will no longer be shown to you.

What is our password policy?

The password needs a minimum of 6 characters. This character string must contain at least

  • one capital letter

  • one small letter

  • one special character

  • one number

Alternatively, a password with 8 characters is also possible. This character string must then contain at least 7 small letters and one capital letter.

In addition, frequently used passwords that are on our blacklist cannot be used.

How can I submit feedback, feature requests, etc.?

The perfect channel for this is our awork community where you can describe your idea to us, attach screenshots and videos and be sure that our product team will really take a close look at every idea you submit. Alternatively, you can also contact our support team and share your ideas with them. The icon with the question mark at the top left of your awork will take you to the community or you can contact the support team directly from there.

Will I be logged out of awork automatically?

For security reasons, you will be logged out automatically after 30 days and will then have to log in again. This is independent of the use of awork.

Do I have to verify my e-mail address?

User who register with awork must verify their email address once during the registration process (exception: SSO, social login, invitation link via email).

Existing clients must verify their email address once. This can be done in the account settings, see here.
