Creating an Invoice
Tracked time can be transferred to invoices via time reports.
By clicking on the dollar icon and selecting Create invoice, you'll start a workflow to transfer your time entries to a new or existing invoice in an integrated invoicing tool.
Integrate an invoicing tool
Here you can learn how to integrate one of the supported invoicing tools so you can use it here.
New invoice vs. existing invoice draft
You can either add the line items to an existing invoice draft or create a new invoice.
Consolidating line items
There are several options for how you can consolidate the time entries from your report into invoice line items:
- Groups = Line items: Only the group headings with the summed totals are transferred as invoice line items (only possible if the data in the time report is grouped)
- Totals = Line items: Only the totals of the line items are transferred as invoice line items (only possible if the data in the time report is summed up)
- Time entries = Line items: Each time entry is transferred as its own line item on the invoice
Choose line item text and unit of measurement
In this step, you can choose what should be displayed as the line item text on the invoice. Your options are:
- Project name
- Task name
- Username
You can also decide whether the time should be transferred to the invoice in hours or days. One day is calculated as 8 hours.
Adjust data and enter prices
In the second-to-last step, you'll see each line item again and can edit them manually. You can make the following changes:
- Change the line item name
- Adjust the number of hours or days
- Delete a line item
- Change the order of line items
- Create a new line item
For the line items, you'll need to enter the prices in this step.
Mark time as invoiced and create the invoice
In the final step, you can mark all time entries that have been transferred to the invoice as invoiced and create the invoice in your invoicing tool.
You can now close the window or go directly to your invoicing tool.
