Starting the Importer
☝️ The whole import process takes between 2 and 15 minutes, depending on the amount of projects you are importing.
Go to the tab Importer in the Settings and click on "Start import" with Monday.
Click on your Profile in Monday.com and click on “Developers” in the menu element.
On the following page, click on “My access token”.
Click on “Show”.
Copy your access token.
Project Import
Insert the access token into the field for it and click on “Continue”.
In the next step, you can select one or several projects which you want to import.
It is also possible to select a project type and a project template for the imported project.
☝️ Important: This needs to be created in the awork workspace beforehand.
In the next step, you can map the Column from Monday.com to Custom Fields in awork.
☝️ Important: Custom Fields need to be created in awork before you can map them in the importer settings.
☝️Note: The task status needs to be created in a project template first. Otherwise, it is not imported correctly.
The assignee of a task needs to exist in Monday and awork with the same email address.
If you do not want to map a column, pick “Do not map”.
You can map Subtasks separately, if you want. You can also decide whether you want to import comments on tasks and subtasks.
☝️Note: Imported Comments will not be attributed to people. They are always attributed to the importing person and their API token.
Afterwards click on “Continue to import”.
In the next step you can see a summarization of your imported projects, tasks, files, subtasks and comments. This can take a few seconds.
Afterwards, click on “Start Import”.
Your import progress will start. In the progress bar you can see how much was imported so far and you can see the estimated time of the import.
If your import was successful, you will see a summarization and a confirmation. In case the import failed, you will receive information what went wrong. By clicking on “Return to Home” you can start the importing process from step 1 again.
In your awork workspace, you can now see the imported project.
