How Workspace Context Works
Workspace Context gets broken down into smaller pieces. It's not simply added in full to the context every time an AI runs. Instead, the agent can use the parts that are relevant to your specific request when needed.
This means general company information, work practices, and rules can be taken into account in different situations.
Example of a workspace rule: Times are generally rounded to the full hour.
When an agent analyzes recorded times, they can keep this information in mind as they work.
Workspace Context doesn't expand an agent's permissions. It provides shared knowledge and rules. Which tools and actions an agent can actually use is controlled separately.
Creating Workspace Context
Only users with access to workspace settings and AI permissions can access workspace context.

Open settings (gear icon in the bottom left of the main menu).

Navigate to the AI category and select Workspace Context from the menu.

Type all relevant details and agreements into the text field What should every agent know?
Keep your text short and avoid confidential information, since all workspace members can read this content.
Write Content with an Agent
The awork Agent can help you write Workspace Context.
To do this, the agent can analyze existing documentation and then ask questions to complete the relevant context.
Click the Write with Agent button in the top right above the text field to use the awork Agent to help you create or edit your workspace context.
Adding Project-Specific Context
In addition to shared Workspace Context, projects can contain their own information for agents.
For example, a project can have a Doc called For Agents.
It might include:

Who's responsible for the project

How tasks should be handled

When a project is considered critical or unhealthy

What rules apply specifically to the project
The agent can then use both the general Workspace Context and this project-specific context.
Example of a project rule: A project is considered unhealthy if more than 20 hours have been logged in the current calendar month or a specific task list contains more than five tasks.
The agent can use these project rules together with the Workspace Context.
